Boomy Oldskull
Krator huh? Certainly implied in your mind when hearing or reading the name was going to be dizzy from where dah out this brand? Krator is one new player in the audio world that first debuted at Computex 2011 ago. Majority of products on offer in the form of multimedia speakers either 2.0 or 2.1, but one wrote cuman variants of existing headphones. Well, this time I get a chance to try headphonenya the krator Dione C-1140C (let's just call it Krator Dione without the numbers and codes, kinda disturbing).
Big thanks to Ultima Computer to lend me a demo unit.
The Build and Design
look at how sexy it is ..
The shape and design of the selected krator for these headphones look a bit retro. For those who are somewhat senior in terms of audio must be de Javu bit to see if these headphones because of its somewhat similar to the legendary AKG K1000. The design is actually pretty good, no part of the sharp edges and not too complicated.
there you go, retro style with hardened earcup
Headband used is a retractable type, which is supported by two pieces of wire wrapped in hard plastic to prevent these headphones swaying from the holder when worn on the head. This retractable systems provide the perfect solution in terms of comfort.
retractable headband
Headphonenya pretty solid body with an aluminum material for earcupnya. This gives a plus for these headphones in terms of body resistance. Cable that connects the headphone driver is wedged between the pillars that hold the aluminum earcup headphones.
aluminum earcup, vintage design
Ear cushions of the headphones is made of leather stuffed with foam. Pretty easy to wear for hours. Coupled with headband design that is not too "pinning" the head, +1 for it's comfortable.
earpad skin, quite comfortable to use for hours
Headphone connector uses a standard of 3.5 mm gold plated connector, 3.5 mm converter is also available to 6.3 mm headphones and pouch for this.
3.5 mm gold plated connectors
One unique thing that I feel from these headphones, though designnya the open back, when we are wearing headphones, we could feel the air to our ears it becomes a bit tight. Somewhat in contrast with designnya but that's exactly what I feel when wearing these headphones. Sounds pretty closed environment as perceived feel tight when wearing these headphones.
open back but tight huh?
Overall build and design these headphones are quite unique, with a design that was somewhat retro / vintage and earpad comfortable and the headband is also comfortable to wear, giving it a plus for these headphones. But designnya somewhat retro / vintage is not necessarily favored by all people, could be a negative value for these headphones (although somewhat subjective in terms of good or not good), but it will all come back to the user, whether to good headphones or retro designnya / vintage. Beyond that, the comfort of one plus point of these headphones.
The Sound
I first saw these headphones, which is implied in my mind it would taste a bit of classical voice with not too much bass and treble are not much more prominent in mid. My prediction turned out 100% wrong. The first time you wear these headphones, even the first impression I get from these headphones is the bass is really massive. Because of the ane feel meshed feel when memaikai these headphones, the bass massive enough to make vibrate the ear following the bass boom of the song.
NB: The first time I test the sound uses a pure source of blackberry
hey ... I see youuuuuu cables ..
The High
Treble / High in the headphones is categorized much. Many but not ear piercing. The songs are a lot of treble happy as found in K-Pop songs going to fit with these headphones. Details are presented is not very satisfactory considering the rather boomy bass treble the existing cover. Details are contained in the guitar intro song Mike Silver - Old Fashioned Saturday Night feels less detail, somewhat laidback, especially when the vocals came out, seemed like there gitas smuanya bass that was standing right in front of a vowel sound and all other musical instruments. In some way, sometimes noticeably less neat treblenya separasinya caused by a covered smuanya bass. One thing that is unique from these headphones is even treble / bass highnya rather ketutup ama, staging is presented fairly wide and headphone tidy for this class. Yao Si Ting listening - we like the taste Betrayal in one large room, unfortunately the vocals feel less "open" dsini, tasteless and more ketutup muffled bass.
The Mid
Mid presented in the headphones is pretty slick. Midnya "no", but unfortunately less forward, feels more like a "muffled" bass. Melodious sound of Yao Si Ting less well presented on headphones. Midnya more taste and less muffled forward plus a bit laidback. This indicates less suitable headphone for music are more concerned with detail.
The Bass
Well, here's the most striking of these headphones. Bass is round, massive, ngekick, boomy. Boomynya was not just a boomy, but could make his ear and the surrounding area felt a strong vibration of each bass boom that comes out of these headphones. Amendment to the trance dance song or the like, or Dubstep going to love these headphones bagnet same. Bass presented was more than enough to make ears and everything vibrates to follow the boom track. Try some songs on the album skrillex scary monsters and nice sprites in the headphones is enough to make my head vibrate without stopping. Trance and hip hop mania going to be thrilled with the character of these headphones. Pop songs and also the treble ngebeat mania can also fit with the character of these headphones. Unfortunately the bass is dihasilnya more focus to mid-bass, but unfortunately less boomy really deep because boomynya cover everything.
Noise Isolation
As I said above, headphone earcup design is quite unique. Although designnya open back, but he was able to make your ears feel tight, so that outside noise is not a lot that goes into our ears. Although unable to match the noise isolation like closed back in general, but he could bring the noise isolation is more than the average open-back headphones ertipe.
Comfotability
Ear-cushion is a comfortable padded headband with added comfort during use. The use of dair headphones for hours did not result in significant pain in the ear. Unfortunately due to the nature kedapnya, the ear will feel a little hangan as usage, warm but can still be tolerated by the ear.
Summary
Overall these headphones sound pretty good, bass is really boomy massive and very fit for users who prefer longer filled with the thumping bass like a trance song, Dubstep, hip hop, and the like. Mid and Treblenya quite fitting for these headphones though seem very laid back and fairly covered the bass. Kpop mania is going to be happy with the headphones, treblenya not stab and bass are also massive enough to follow the rhythm of the song. Unfortunately, these headphones are quite fit for a rock song because like many of the closed treblenya bass too boomy and also to follow the rhythm of existing, less suitable for fans of classic songs and other songs tipe2 where detail is necessary, these headphones can not provide the details with fine. But for all arounder with music that tends toward ngebeat, these headphones champion there, beatnya could be presented with a round and massive.
Pros:
+ Comfortable headband
+ Ear-padded cushion
Noise isolation + good
+ Bonus Headphones pouch
+ Massive and boomy bass
Staging Area + Fair
+ Not Sibilance
Cons:
- Treble lot but muffled
- Mid and also a little bit muffled bass ketutup
- Vocal laidback
- Bass massive but less deep
Pros / Cons:
+ / - Bass massive (not everyone is suited to the bass as much as this, especially for the likes detail)
+ / - Model Retro / Vintage
Thus my review of Krator Dione, thanks to Ultima Computer which has lent me a demo unit. If there are words that are less acceptable in this review, I apologize profusely.
